Welcome to Trinity School's 85th year of making known the goodness of God!
For eighty-five years, Trinity has educated students for life in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Rooted in the Gospel and guided by the Notre Dame Hallmarks, we cultivate each child's God-given gifts through opportunities for academic growth, leadership, service, and faith.
Our 85th anniversary is both a celebration of this remarkable legacy and an invitation to look toward the future. Our anniversary theme, Deep Roots. Vibrant Futures., captures who we are as a school: deeply rooted in our Catholic identity, the vision of St. Julie Billiart, and the educational tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, while continually growing to meet the needs of the children entrusted to our care.
At Trinity, we believe education is about more than what children learn. It is also about who they become. We want our students to discover their gifts, develop the confidence and courage to use them, learn from challenges and mistakes, care for others, and recognize their responsibility to contribute to the communities of which they are a part. In this way, we remain faithful to the Notre Dame commitment to educate for life.
This year, we will place particular emphasis on Hallmark #6: We create community among those with whom we work and with those we serve. Community is at the heart of the Trinity experience. It is created each day through relationships grounded in respect, kindness, faith, shared responsibility, and a genuine appreciation for the gifts each person brings. We strive to be a school where every child is seen, heard, known, valued, challenged, and loved—and where students learn that their own gifts can help others grow.
Our 85th year is also a year of reflection and continued growth. Having completed an extensive self-study, Trinity will welcome a Visiting Team from the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS) this December as part of our reaccreditation process. Self-reflection is an important part of who we are as a learning community. Just as we encourage our students to recognize their strengths, embrace challenges, and continually grow, we ask the same of ourselves as a school. This process provides an opportunity to celebrate what Trinity does well while thoughtfully considering how we can continue to strengthen the educational experience for today's students and those who will follow them.
For generations, Trinity has been shaped by Sisters, educators, students, families, alumni, trustees, and friends who believed deeply in its mission. As we celebrate 85 years, we honor those who established our deep roots while recognizing that our students are already part of Trinity's vibrant future.
Whether you are a current family, a prospective family discovering Trinity for the first time, an alum returning home, or a friend of the School, I invite you to experience a community where faith and learning come together, children are encouraged to discover and share their God-given gifts, and the goodness of God is made known each day.
