Green Initiatives

Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education
Green Since 2014

Trinity School's students are advocates for the earth's environment in the classroom, on campus, and in the surrounding community.

Our Green Mission

Trinity School is committed to improving the health and sustainability of the school community. We strive to promote environmental awareness and to reduce our carbon footprint in the operation of the school. To these ends, we promote opportunities and implement activities that demonstrate our appreciation of, and commitment to, preserving the earth's environment. We encourage and teach our students to be good stewards of the earth by becoming advocates for the earth's environment on campus and in the surrounding community.

Green Initiatives Across the Curriculum

All grades use online textbooks. Our green initiatives across the curriculum are detailed below for each grade.

The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE)  is pleased to announce that Trinity School is recognized as a Recertified 2023 Maryland Green School.  Maryland Green Schools are part of a national and international community of sustainable green schools.  Our students are becoming better stewards of our Earth's resources and developing a better understanding of their own local environment.
Over the past four years, Trinity School has demonstrated and documented a continuous effort to integrate sustainable environmental management practices, environmental education curriculum, professional development opportunities, and community engagement into our daily operations. This award signifies that our school has made a commitment to developing stewards of the earth and reducing the environmental impact of our school.
To maintain this Green School status, we will strive to meet the objectives of having both students and teacher led initiatives. Teachers and students will use the campus for outdoor learning like reading, writing, playing, and enjoying a snack. Teachers will include environmental lessons in their grade-level activities and attend professional development opportunities about environmental issues.  Students will continue with our goals of solid waste management, water conservation, and creating a healthy school environment. Each April we will celebrate Earth Day with projects that beautify our campus and celebrate our stewardship.

The Green Team

Trinity's Green Team consists of teachers, students, administration, maintenance personnel, and a parent representative. We also partner with outside companies and programs for our recycling program, campus beautification and upkeep, lunch program, and for professional and student development programs.
